WELCOME to THAILAND. We give you the
opportunity to see the beauty of Thailand for yourself.
You can learn about the Thai people, Thai culture and
education in Thailand; by living with a Thai family, who
will welcome you with pride. You will visit many important
places, ancient historical sights and see the beautiful
natural environment of Thailand and have free-time to
relax.
Ten
day programmes are offered to the Northern, Central, Northeastern
or Southern Regions of Thailand. The highlight of these
programmes will be your 'homestay experience', staying
with a Thai family, for three nights and visiting school.

The
Northern Region |
The
North region is a mountainous region comprising
natural forests, ridges and deep, narrow,
alluvial valleys. For centuries the north
area is the center of culture and religion.
The lowland northerners are noted as a gentle
and hospitable people. Chiang Mai is the major
city of the North. Also called "Rose
of the North". |

|
The
Northeastern Region |
The
Northeast region is a huge region with over
20 million inhabitants. Because of its inaccessibility
in the past, it was able to develop its own
version of the Thai culture. This is characterised
by exotic festivals, folk dances and spicy
food. Recent excavations also suggest that
it was home to a flourishing Bronze Age civilisation,
some 5,000 years ago. |

The
Central Plain |
The
Central Plain is the basin of the Chao Phraya
River, is a lush, fertile valley. It is the
richest and most extensive rice-producing
area in the country and has often been called
the "Rice Bowl of Asia".This is
the heart of Thailand, the region where the
original Thais first settled, attracted here
by the extra - ordinarily fertile and to be
found on either side of the Chao Phraya River
and its tributaries. Bangkok is centrally
located and surrounded by the heavy density
of population. |
|
|
The
Southern Region |
The Southern region is hilly to mountainous,
with thick virgin forests and rich deposits
of minerals and ores. The south, which is
flanked on two sides by the Andaman Sea and
the Gulf of Thailand, is lined with sandy
beaches and palm-fringed islands lying just
offshore. Some of the finest beaches in the
country are to found in Phuket, Samui, and
the islands in Phangnga Bay. |
